How Real?

by Gina Agsalon (Oct. 17, 2009)
(inspiration came after hearing a mass song at greenbelt chapel…)

How real is Your presence to me?…
…enough for me to hesitate everytime I am tempted to sin knowing that Your gaze is fixed upon me..

How real is the story of Your Son to me?…
…enough for me to realize that I should always give my best in everything I do knowing that You Yourself gave Your best just to save me..

How real is the Scriptures to me?…
…enough for me to take time to read it everyday knowing that it contains wisdom that will guide me in all the decisions I am making in life..

How real is prayer to me?…
…enough for me to look forward to the times I will be spending with you confiding everything that my heart contains and not just merely reciting the words out of memory..

How real is Your Body to me?…
…enough for me to decide to change my ways knowing that Your great sacrifice should move me to make right my path..

How real is Your Blood to me?…
…enough for me to seek Your forgiveness and not give in to fear and guilt that the enemy is using to take me away from You..

How real is Your love to me?…
…enough for me to feel overwhelmed with joy everytime You embrace me with Your blessings despite knowing how unfaithful I have been to my promises to You..

Are You for real?… and You answered..

You, my child, are real to Me…
…enough for Me to set aside My divinity..
…enough for Me to embrace My created humanity..
…enough for Me to forgive you despite your many iniquities..
…enough for Me to decide to still be with you always through My Spirit..
…enough for Me to love you enough to sadly respect your decision if you don’t want to be with Me..

If you could only realize all these… for real.
